HELENA AREA FRIENDS OF PETS
HELPING "FIX" HELENA'S PET OVERPOPULATION SINCE 2004
MISSION STATEMENT
Helena Area Friends of Pets (HAFOP) brings our community together with public, private, and local government sources to combat pet overpopulation throughout Lewis & Clark County. We offer a low cost program to offset the costs of pet spaying/neutering, provide outreach to people in need of our assistance with sterilizing their pets, and educate the public on the need for -and benefits from- spaying and neutering their pets.

ABOUT US
Helena Area Friends of Pets (HAFOP) is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) that has been serving Helena since 2004. We assist low-income individuals in our community who cannot afford to take their pets to be serviced and may pay upwards of $200 to $300 to have their pets spayed or neutered. We do ask for a donation towards the surgery so we can help as many pet owners as possible, but no pet owner is EVER expected to give money if they cannot afford a copay. We will perform a spay or neuter for free in order to help reduce pet overpopulation. In our 17 years of service, we have spayed and neutered over 15,000 pets!
HOW IT WORKS
Call (406) 465-0009 and leave a detailed message. Within a day or two, one of our volunteers will contact you to discuss your eligibility. If eligible, our volunteers will make an appointment with a local vet and establish a copay plan. Transportation is available for us to take your pet to the appointment if you cannot drive. Our services are donation only, you pay what you can. There is no fee required, but we do ask to pay it forward. For our services, we need an address, phone number, species, age, weight, gender, and availability.
